Privacy Policy for UniSplit

Playneer ("we," "us," or "our") built the UniSplit app as a Freemium app. This SERVICE is provided by Playneer at no cost for basic features, with optional premium upgrades, and is intended for use as is. This page is used to inform visitors and users regarding our policies with the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information.

1. Information Collection and Use

For a better experience while using our Service, we may require you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information. The information that we request will be retained by us and used as described in this privacy policy.

• Account Information: Email address, Display Name, Profile Picture (if provided), and Authentication data (via Google Sign-In or Apple Sign-In).
• App Data: Expense records, group names, custom categories, currencies, and user interactions within the ledger.
• Device Permissions (Camera & Photo Library): To use the receipt scanning feature, the app requires access to your device's camera or photo library. Images are collected strictly for the purpose of expense parsing.

2. AI Receipt Scanning (Important)

UniSplit offers an AI-powered receipt scanning feature to automatically extract items and amounts. When you use this feature:

• Image Processing: The image of your receipt is sent securely to a third-party artificial intelligence provider (Google Cloud / Gemini API) solely for the purpose of optical character recognition (OCR) and data extraction.
• No Model Training: Your receipt images and extracted data are NOT used to train, improve, or fine-tune any foundational AI models.
• Data Retention: The images are processed in real-time and are not permanently stored on our servers or the AI provider's servers beyond the time needed to extract the text.

3. Third-Party Services

We use third-party services to operate, secure, and improve the app. These services have their own Privacy Policies addressing how they handle data:

• Google Analytics & Crashlytics (Firebase): To monitor app performance, analyze usage, and fix crashes.
• Firebase Authentication & Cloud Firestore: To securely authenticate users, store, and sync ledger data across your devices.
• RevenueCat: To manage auto-renewable subscriptions (UniSplit PRO) and In-App Purchases securely. RevenueCat only receives an anonymous user ID and receipt data to verify subscription status; it does not receive your identifiable personal data from us.
• Google Cloud (AI API): For processing receipt images as described in Section 2.
• Apple / Google Play Services: For processing secure payments.
• Google AdMob: To provide advertisements for free-tier users. AdMob may collect device identifiers (such as Android Advertising ID or Apple IDFA), IP addresses, and usage data to serve personalized or non-personalized ads.

4. Data Export and Local Storage

UniSplit allows users to export their financial ledgers as PDF or CSV files.

• These exported files are generated and stored locally on your device.
• Once exported, you have full control over these files. We do not track, intercept, or store copies of the files you choose to share externally via email, messaging apps, or other third-party services.

5. Data Security

We value your trust in providing us your Personal Information. Your passwords, authentication tokens, and app data are encrypted in transit and at rest using Firebase's secure infrastructure. We do not sell, trade, or rent user personal identification information to third parties.

6. Account and Data Deletion

You have the full right to delete your account and all associated personal data at any time.

• How to delete: You can do this directly within the UniSplit app by navigating to Menu (Drawer) > My Profile > Delete UniSplit Account.
• What happens to your personal data: Upon confirming deletion, your authentication records, active sessions, and personal profile information will be permanently and irreversibly removed from our databases.
• What happens to shared groups: To protect the integrity of shared financial records for other users, any expense groups or ledgers you were a part of will remain active for the remaining members. However, your connection to these groups will be severed, and your personal identifiable information within those shared ledgers will be anonymized (e.g., your name may appear as "Deleted User").

7. Children's Privacy

Our Services do not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we immediately delete this from our servers.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. These changes are effective immediately after they are posted on this page.
